Press release to inform users of upcoming field record inspections in Northern Ireland| Dont wait for the slurry to hit the Fan! This is the advice being given to Northern Ireland farmers in advance of the EHS nitrates inspections, which began on the 1st July. The Nitrates Action Programme Regulations, and Phosphorous Regulations, effective from the 1st January 2007, were introduced to improve the use of nutrients on farms and as a result, improve water quality throughout Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland’s fastest growing Herd Management service FarmWizard.com is reporting rapid take-up of its field recording system, which provides a farmer with a simple effective system for meeting his cross compliance requirements. The system automatically calculates nitrogen loading based on number of animals, type, and age including any manure imports and exports on or off farm. It can record soil tests, track nitrates and phosphate applications and in doing so provide a farmer with complete peace of mind that they are not breaching legislation. | FarmWizard is already being used by a number of Northern Ireland organic farmers who have historically had strict record keeping requirements.
