Future is FarmWizard say UK Dairy Suppliers
FarmWizard is trialled by a group of Robert Wiseman dairy producer board members| FarmWizard announced today that a group of Robert Wiseman Dairy Suppliers had successfully concluded a 3 month trial of FarmWizard.com, an innovative online dairy and beef herd management tool. FarmWizard.com, a new entry to the English dairy IT market, was piloted over a 3 months period. One of the participants Milk Producer Andrew Bloor from Cheshire commented: “I found FarmWizard very user friendly and extremely efficient in managing our fertility and legislative farm records. Most of our farm recording is now carried out on a hand held computer which increases the accuracy of information and gives us access to records when and where we need it.” Mike Stevens manager of Wiseman Dairies Farm Services Group said: “When we initially heard about FarmWizard we thought it could be a very useful tool for our suppliers so we commissioned a trial. The results of the trial have proved genuine time saving benefits for farmers as well as improved production through better management.” | Terry Canning MD of FarmWizard explained, “Dairy Farmers are increasingly being asked to keep more detailed records, whether it be for their movement books, cross compliance or Farm Quality Assurance Schemes.” He continued, “By reusing information that already exists, we have enabled farmers to cut down on paperwork and removed the need to record the same information in more than one place.” FarmWizard had developed a reputation as the most user-friendly herd management solution available, as it only requires a web browser and internet access. No software is necessary – if you can browse the internet you can make full use of FarmWizard. Information can be recorded and accessed out in the fields using a handheld PDA computer. FarmWizard is already being used on over 1000 UK farms and the innovation behind it has been acclaimed throughout the world. Since its creation in 2004 FarmWizard has been the recipient of no fewer than 5 awards which include the prestigious Irish SME of the year 2006, Sybase Technical Innovators award 2006 at a glitzy ceremony in Las Vegas, 2006 BT Golden Eye award for Mobile Technology, Northern Ireland E-Commerce award 2005 for 'Best Use of Broadband' and the DTI Smart Award 2004 for innovation. |
