Field Recording Package Now Available
FarmWizard has new field recording package available| Agri-IT company FarmWizard.com unveiled an exciting new field recording system, designed to help farmers meet Nitrate and Phosphorus application regulations, at this years Balmoral Show. Mark Elliott, Farmwizard business development manager, said that FarmWizard’s primary function was to use Internet technology to reduce the hassle involved in keeping farm records. ``The new Northern Ireland Nitrates and Phosphorous application regulations will introduce additional record keeping burden on both dairy and beef farmers” Mark said. “As part of the new regulations farmers should be maintaining records from the 1st Jan 2007 with inspections starting in 2008. We can relieve that additional record keeping burden by managing these new records for the farmer allowing him to get on with the real business of farming” The new system will not only maintain the required legislative records but will in addition track the use of fertiliser against recorded soil analysis. By tracking this usage the farmer can be sure that he is not wasting money on fertiliser that he doesn’t need. | This aspect of the FarmWizard field recording system was reviewed by TIMAC Agri Business Ltd. Technical manager Peter Barrett said: “The new regulations provide a good opportunity to target better nutrient efficiency on the farm, but a few minor adjustments must be made to management. The FarmWizard system makes this easier by tracking application of the fertiliser against the recommendations once soil analysis and the appropriate recommendations are made” UKAS accredited soil analysis may be ordered from TIMAC online via FarmWizard. One milk producer with plenty of experience of FarmWizard and TIMAC products is Ivor Lowry of Blakiston Houston Estate, Dundonald. “I have found FarmWizard very easy to use, its seamless integration with APHIS means that the time we need to spend keeping records is substantially decreased” he said. “By being straight forward and easy to use we know keeping our field records on FarmWizard will be an easy task” This new feature enhances FarmWizard’s online herd management offering which is now being used by over 750 farms throughout Northern Ireland and Great Britain. The award winning system is now the fastest growing herd management solution in the Northern Ireland. |
